Blade II
Blade II (2002)

IMDB rating: 6.50

Plot: A rare mutation has occurred within the vampire community. The Reaper. A vampire so consumed with an insatiable bloodlust that they prey on vampires as well as humans, transforming victims who are unlucky enough to survive into Reapers themselves. Now their quickly expanding population threatens the existence of vampires, and soon there won’t be enough humans in the world to satisfy their bloodlust. Blade, Whistler (Yes, he’s back) and an armory expert named Scud are curiously summoned by the Shadow Council. The council reluctantly admits that they are in a dire situation and they require Blade’s assistance. Blade then tenuously enters into an alliance with The Bloodpack, an elite team of vampires trained in all modes of combat to defeat the Reaper threat. Blade’s team and the Bloodpack are the only line of defense which can prevent the Reaper population from wiping out the vampire and human populations.

getting another cat/kitten but already have a spoiled one at home. Advice please!?
I have a male kitten who is about a year old now. He is spoiled rotten and the king of the house so to speak. He was a rescue cat that when we adopted him was in a home with two other cats, a dog and a ferret. He is really friendly and so social with people and vocal and I love him to death! I would like to rescue/adopt another cat eventually but I am scared that because he has been alone for a year now he has established that he is the alpha and I would not want the other one to get hurt.

What is your advice on what age/sex of the cat/kitten to bring home? Would a male be good or getting a female be better? I would like to get an older cat (2-4 years) because they always get adopted last and my heart goes out to them when I see them at the shelters ?

My cat is fixed but he has his claws could the other one get hurt? How is a good way to introduce them so they get along? I know that my cat thinks he is the alpha above everyone in the house but I am just looking for some advice. I really loved rescuing my little guy and would love to help out another and give him a little friend if I could.

Thanks for the advice!

Sorry, but there is no way your kitten considers himself spoiled rotten. If he could talk, he would say he is only entitled.

He is only a year old, so still very much a kitten. I would look to getting an older kitten, and one who has already been fixed. (Normally, a kitten transitions to more adult behavior around their third year). Sex is irrelevant once they are fixed. Yes, males are larger, but that does not mean they are always the alpha kitty.

Expect hissing, growling, and probably even wrestling as that would be expected. And remember, kittens play rough, very rough. They know what their claws can do, do much of it is bluff and bluster. I have done numerous introductions, and never a drop of blood spilled.

There are two basic approaches to making introductions. The go slow approach has one in a separate room, and they sniff each other out under the door. You then swap places, so they get used to each others scent. Then, longer and longer times together.

If a separate room is not feasible, then you bring the new kitty in its carrier into the room, let your cat sniff it out, and then open the door and let them mix. That is the way I have always done it, but I realize it doesn’t work for everyone.

Remember, a new kitten may be scared and frightened to be in a new place, so it may find a safe spot to hide for several days, coming out at night.

In a multi-cat household, having vertical separations is important. In other words, can one cat cross the room at a different level from a cat that is on the floor, usually jumping from furniture to furniture? Doesn’t have to be the entire room, but if defuses conflicts.

i have the same problem but i have a female cat
Celeste S | Nov 17, 2009

Since your kitten is so young he is flexible still, opposed to 2 years old where he would be somewhat set in his ways and beliefs, a male or female kitten would be okay, but you have to look at the pros and cons, when two male cats are together or even sometimes alone, they spray, they spray all over everything they consider "theirs" to show the other male cats who’s boss, now they are all neutered from the pound so maybe that could change it, but if you bring an older male into the picture that could very well happen. An older female would maybe a little more ideal for a number of reasons. Overall an older cat coming into the home with a younger one who was already there could go two different ways, it could set your little kitten into some bad habits, or could be a good role model for your kitten, and teach him the works of a true cat.

i don’t think that the cat that you already have would take to hard to the new cat because i had the same problem.
i have a 3 year old cat and he is also spoiled rotten and is very similar to your cat.
We took in a stray kitten about 5 months ago and at first he pretended like she wasn’t even there, after a couple of weeks he began playing with her and chasing her around the house, they also play fight all the time, but they always end up sleeping together in the same cat bed and cleaning each other.
they get along great, and i don’t think that a new cat (young or old) will bother your cat because he seems like he’s a very social cat.
if you still have your doubts you can introduce them slowly by Letting each of them smell the other indirectly, by rubbing a towel on one and letting the other smell it. They will soon accept the scent as a normal part of the house. later let the two cats sniff each other through a baby-gate or through a barely-opened door. when you think they’re ready, let them mingle under your supervision. Ignore hissing and growling, but you may have to intervene if a physical battle breaks out
take this step slowly, depending on how quickly they get along.

I would recommend a younger kitten. There is a natural resistance to hurting a kitten in older cats. A full grown cat would challenge your cat for dominance. It could cause all kinds of stress. Your cat will quickly show the kitten who is boss and that will be the end of that.

BTW- I have two cats, brothers from the same litter. They are Absolutely no trouble even after 10 years. A "cat lady" advised me to adopt at least two cats and they would be much less trouble. She is right. I hear all kinds of stories about people’s cats destroying things, messing everywhere, acting out etc. Never had that at all with our two guys. They are never lonely or bored. They both use the same litter box, the same food bowl the same water bowl, they sleep together etc. We have gone on vacation for up to ten days and left them home with a food and water dispenser and had our son check on them a few times, but there were never any issues.

im looking to make a film with some friends. even though were young and dont expect it to look like a professionally done movie, we want it to look really good. we have a good software and everything, but we need a camera. any cameras that give great HD video for under $300? any pictures/videos taken from it would help too, thanks.

You’re really limited with that price so just go with a brand that you know (sony, canon, panasonic). You really need to go to the store and see for yourself. Try Costco.

iTouch or laptop???????

Posted in Uncategorized, No Comments »

As we all know, Black Friday is tomorrow and the sales are going to be amazing. My parents are going Christmas shopping, and they asked me what I wanted Problem is, I’m not too sure what I want for Christmas. Its a toss-up between an iTouch and a laptop.

If I go with the laptop, it will be pretty much all I get. But it would be really awesome to have for school, games, movies, and internet (my brother and I are ALWAYS fighting over the computer, and my mom hates it when I use her laptop).

The iTouch would also be really cool. Its more portable, so I’d be able to take it anywhere, plus its cheaper, so it would save some money.

I don’t know what to choose!

It’d also be cool if you guys could give some suggestions on what kind of things to get for friends and family. I’m getting stuff for people too, but I have a limited budget($100 for about 10-15 people).

Thanks!

Umm id get a laptop you can take it anywhere too.
Jay | Nov 28, 2008

I think you should get a laptop. It’s more convenient and its more fun. And if you use it a lot to talk to friends or something, the keys are too close together for that and your fingers get tired

Mohamed R | Nov 28, 2008

i would go with a laptop, but i would think about the laptop before you buy it, because if you dont end up liking the specs on it after you buy it, you will have a bit of trouble convincing your parents to buy a different one.
Emily W | Nov 28, 2008

I would go with the laptop. However, if you are looking at price, the laptop would be more expensive.

The best deal I found on the Apple iPod touch was at Amazon.com, they have the 16 GB, for 1/2 price! It’s 199.99 plus FREE shipping! FYI: They are selling the 8 GB for $50.00 more. So why not get double the GBs.

As far as all your family/friends, also check out Amazon.com, especially today, on Black Friday, they are running all kinds of deals all day and you will have no problem finding something for 100.00.

This question may take a while to answer but please, no cheating by saying "I’m too lazy to answer" or "I don’t know" I will report offenders.
Please!!! I am really depending on honest answers. This may be my only chance to getting this job.

I applied at two Spirit Halloween stores because I really want to work at a Spirit store this year! I so far had three interviews between the two of them with these following questions I answered. Some are easy, some are hard, some are confusing as to why this would be related to the job…

On two of those interviews, I severely screwed up with what I said, but thank the lord another spirit store is giving me an interview. This may be my last shot so I must study hard!!!
So here is exactly how I answered them I know I really said some messy no no’s that probably blew it for my chance at the job… But I’m not sure how to answer these in a prettier way that doesn’t sound as unattractive. I would appreciate if you rate how well my answers are and if they are not. What you would say?

Q-What is your favorite subject in school?
A-Philosophy, I feel in love with philosophy and had taken two classes in the subject.

Q-Who was your favorite philosopher?
-Shakyamuni Buddha

Q-How was you past within relations to customers?
A-I dealt with many different kinds of customers during my past jobs, I have dealt with the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Q-How do you deal with the bad and the ugly customers?
A-Usually they would get upset when they want something that is out of my power. What I do then is call someone in higher power who may be able to help him or her better or confirm that there is nothing we can do about them.

Q-What if you were helping a customer, but something needed to get done?
A-I would keep helping the customer first until there needs are meet then whatever else needed the attention, I would get it started.

Q-You would get it started? Would you get it finished?
A-Of course I would. Unless it is too much to ask to get something really large done in one day.

Q-What happened with Target? Why did you quite after only four months? (This question was the hardest because I didn’t want to lie)
A-*Thought for a long time how to put it as I felt the pressure of the interviewer staring at me.*
My ex boss and I toward the end we were not getting along. Mind you, I don’t have a problem with authority one bit, In fact I loved my ex boss at Hometown Buffet and I was proud of that job. We did used to get along at the beginning, but eventually the relationship started to deteriorate. What he would do is imply that I’m stupid by asking me "Hey Jessica, there is something called common sense. Have you heard of it?" What I mainly did that built my fear of him was he threatened me that he would send me home if I forgot my apron one more time, and I assume that meant fired. I was careful, but sure enough I eventually did forget my apron so I just quit on the spot. Sometime later, he eventually lost his job because many other people besides me were quitting because of him.

Q-How would you handle problems you had with your fellow employees?
A-I usually would bring it to human resources, and dispute it until we come to an agreement that we would collaborate.

Q-If I called your ex boss from Hometown Buffet right now, what would he say that you need room for improvement with?
A-I really don’t know. From the top of my head guess, I would think he would say that I could improve on learning how to handle situations myself rather than depending on a higher power such as himself.

Q-Is their anything else I need to know about you?
A-Well, I do have an emotional disability which sometimes brings me to crying spells. Mind you, I never let the customers see it. It had to had happen twice in Target and only once in Hometown Buffet. It’s not the customers that mainly trigger it, but the employees I have to face on a daily basis. However, this is still rare.

Q-I have an x number of application and only a couple of slots left, give me a good reason why we should hire you?
A-Obvoiusly I am determined, Very determined because I keep giving phone calls and coming back in person to check my application statues. That tells you something about my commitment and integrity.

Q-Do you have any questions for me?
A-What do you expect of me?

Q-Do you have any other questions for me?
A-*Thought about it* Not that I know of, but if one does come up I’ll let you know.

This will be long, so bear with me.

1. Fine enough, although you may want to elaborate on why it is your favorite subject.

2. You really should explain. An answer to an interview question shouldn’t be two words.

3,4,5. Sound ok. I don’t have experience in retail so hopefully someone who does can give you better feedback.

6. Sounds a bit negative. You should emphasize that you will get it done, not that you couldn’t do something.

7. You don’t have to be so specific about what happened. You can say that your manager didn’t get along with you, or with any other employees for that matter, and the manager was causing you so much stress that you quit. You really should mention that the manager was later fired, because otherwise it can sound like you are difficult to work with.

8. At least you are honest, but it is better to try to resolve things with the employee first, then with a manager, and THEN with human resources. It also begs the question (which they may not have asked), why didn’t you go to HR about your boss at Target?

9. This is actually the toughest question (it’s another way of asking "What is your biggest weakness?") because you don’t want to put a negative light on yourself. A better answer, while cliche, would be something like "I work too hard and sometimes need to slow down."

10. DO NOT say anything about an emotional disability! If anything, this will cost you the job! Better to let them find out about this later. It makes it sound like you can’t get along with anyone. A better answer would be something like "I am available 7 days a week, and I would prefer to work evenings."

11. Fair enough, but you might want to add that you have retail experience working with the public, and as mentioned before, you know how to handle rude customers.

12/13: Good start, but the more questions you can think of the better. However, since this is a seasonal job I’m not sure what else there is to ask.

Ahhh hahahah!! the ugly customer part i think is funny…a good thing they didn’t ask you what type of people are ugly!!
well…i guess what happened at Target is very hard to answer for everyone if s/he were in your shoes. i dont know…i guess you should be honest…
and the emotional disability is scary hahahahaha but i guess you shouldn’t lie about it…i think you should at least conceal it RoFl…and i think you should ask more on the quest "Do you have any question for me?"
well it is just my opinion so…hopefully it helps.
Traumatized K | Oct 20, 2009

* Favorite Philosopher – could have been answered differently
* Relations to customers – should be a more positive answer; they are in the Customer business and want happy customers
* The Target Q – you avoided answering it altogether and spoke about Home Buffet instead
* Problems with fellow employees – you said you "disputed it until it was agreed upon" – the disputing would, again, be something that would send a red flag up that says "this person might give us trouble"
* The emotional disability – this is another red flag for them that says "she might be unstable, especially under pressure, like when the store gets very busy"
* A reason to hire you – (this goes for any job, not just this one) – they want to hear that you are THE only person for the job, because you can do XXXX for the company that no one else can do [fill in the X's with whatever will work for you]
* Any questions for me (the employer) – this is where you ask things like : what are you looking for in an employee for this position ? Also, When should I contact you to find out when a decision has been made (on who is getting hired) ? You can even try things like telling the employer that you will work for them for 3 days for no cost, just to prove you are the right person for the job…..note – some employers (and maybe all) will not approve of this due to their insurance laws, etc. Hope this was of benefit to you; just do some reflecting on your answers to do better for the next time ;]
